Professional information
My name is Katrina Tanbi Kessler and I am a senior at Kings Local High School in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. I've been involved with art since I could pick up a crayon and it has always had a special place in my soul. I have even decided to persue jobs in the art field to further expand my artistic ability and mind. Since I was fifteen years old, I've worked multiple of the art operations at the amusement park Kings Island and am still moving my way up the management branch (look in the gallery tab for examples of my body art, caricatures, and portraits). My portrait profiles take around ten to fifteen minutes and my caricatures are five to ten. I plan to continue my artistic job choices through out my life and plan to attend college for an art major.

After working as a caricature artist for two full seasons, I decided that I was finally ready to move up and become a caricature artist lead for my third year. A lead is a step up from an average employee and grants you management privillage and responsibility.

​At the end of my second season at Kings Island, my park manager chose me to be crosstrained in the operation of portraits, which is said to be the hardest art operation to pick up at Kaman's. I now work full time as a dual artist in caricatures and portraits. I also work with the body art products while working at the portrait stand and some caricature stands.

​When I was a freshman, I applied for a job as soon as I could at the age of fifteen. I applied to be a face painter at Kings Island but was transfered to the caricature/portrait artist audition instead after my portfolio was reviewed by management. An audition is a day when all of the applicants come in and draw a caricature and a portrait each without any prior experience. They then spend the day teaching you the basics of each drawing style and have you draw them again at the end of the day. This is done to see if the potential employee has the skill of improvement and learning. I was hired as the youngest artist in the park after that and continue to be one of the youngest.

​I have been a part of the same school district since kindergarden and will finish out my senior year there too. I plan to attend Miami University's College of Creative Arts for graphic design in 2016.
